Basil

Basil is a fragrant herb with a distinctive flavor that many people enjoy. The various types have different flavors.
A person could:

  •  Sprinkle fresh, chopped basil over pizza or into a wrap
  •  Arrange some basil leaves over slices of tomato and mozzarella, then drizzle the dish witholive oil
  • Add basil to soups, tomato sauce and star-fries
  • Make a marinade with basil, olive oil, and chopped garlic
  •  Add whole, or chopped, or torn fresh leaves to a salad
Thyme

Thyme is an herb from the mint family that you probably recognize from your spice set, but it’s
so much more than an afterthought ingredient.
Thyme’s benefits include:
● fighting acne
● lowering blood pressure
● help alleviate cough
● boosting immunity
● disinfecting

Rosemary

Rosemary is an evergreen shrub with needle-like leaves and a woody aroma. Though best known as a food seasoning, it is one of the most popular aromatic and medicinal plants worldwide.
Rosemary is a rich source of antioxidants and anti-inflammatory compounds, which are thought
to help boost the immune system and improve blood circulation. Rosemary is considered a
cognitive stimulant and can help improve memory performance and quality. It is also known to
boost alertness, intelligence, and focus.

Italian Persley

Italian parsley is a variety of the parsley plant used as an herb in a wide range of cuisines around
the world.

The slender stems give way to dark, flat leaves that taste robust and fresh.

  • This herb, also known as flat-leaf parsley, is sold on the stems but only the leaves are most commonly used;
    in cooking, which can be added whole or chopped. Italian parsley is also sold dried, which is
    more muted in flavor than fresh.

Oregano

For thousands of years, people have used it to add flavor to food.

  • Oregano provides antioxidants.
  • Dietary antioxidants help the body eliminate free radicals, which are toxic substances that result
    from natural processes and environmental stresses.
  • A buildup of free radicals can trigger
    oxidative stress. Oxidative stress can lead to cell damage that may result in various diseases,
    including cancer and diabetes.

Marjoram

Marjoram, also known as sweet marjoram, is an aromatic herb in the mint family that has a
milder flavor and is often used to garnish salads, soups, and meat dishes.
Recipe ideas: Marjoram Tea or Marjoram Fresh soup

You can use all the herbs and veggies that you find on the farm during your stay. Some more that you can find are wild goose berries, Lavender blossoms, curry leaf, bay leaf, & chives. Come see what you find!
